Tardy Policy

Addressing Tardiness

With homecoming wrapping up and students settling in to using lockers, we must take some time to develop new routines and clarify expectations.  With that being the case, the following policy will be put into effect this week.

On Monday, October 4, all teachers will begin to track student tardiness and begin issuing paper passes for all students in the hallways.  The policy will be as follows:

* No passes will be given in the first ten minutes of any hour

* No passes at all are given during fourth hour

* Only one person per class is permitted on pass at any time

* Teachers will give all students a paper pass if they leave their classroom for any reason

* Students are expected to show any adult in the hallway their pass when asked

* Any student that does not have a pass will be escorted to class by intervention/admin

* Any student that is not physically in the classroom when the final bell rings is marked tardy

* On the third tardy, students will be assigned a lunch detention by their teacher

* Lunch detentions will be assigned by teachers using a Google Form which will be shared this week

 * Interventionist (Sierra) will notify the student of the date they are serving their lunch detention

* On the 6th tardy, teachers complete an ODR for a student who will be assigned an after school detention

* On the 9th tardy, teachers complete an ODR and student is assigned a 2 hour clean up crew detention working with maintenance or choose an in school suspension

Teachers: Be absolutely sure that passes are left for substitute teachers and this policy is clearly outlined in your plans.

I will share a video with you on Monday morning to be shared during second hour in ALL CLASSES.
