Notes on the Week of November 27

Good Morning and Welcome Back!  I hope you all had a restful break and enjoyed time with your loved ones!

We have four weeks until our winter break, or 20 school days.  What are you going to do to push your kids through this time and maximize learning in your classrooms?   What goals have you set for that time period?  This is often a time that our kids are easily distracted by preparation for the holiday season and time that they will spend with families over the breaks ahead, please keep that in mind and be aware of any significant changes in behavior with your students.  Remember that the RTC room is there for support in these cases and we have tremendous resources available, including Sharon Sadowski, Kelly Seagram and Angela Burley as well.

Tuesday, November 28 is an early release day, followed by a staff meeting.  We will start in various locations (more info to come) to focus on Restorative Practices and use of Restorative Circles in your classrooms, and finish off all together in the Media Center for our staff meeting.  We will also be introducing some members from Community Care Services and discuss some of the services they will be providing our students in the near future.

Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2 our drama club and Ms. Knick will be putting on the play, "Who's Dying to be a Millionaire?" in the auditorium, starting at 7:00 pm each night.

Finally,  Dillon Marshall-Alley, a 10th grade student in the ASD program is putting on a Toy Drive in all of LPPS buildings.  The box for collection is located in the main office.  They are accepting all new toys until December 11 and all donations will benefit local families.  Channel 4 did a news story on it this weekend and you can see that here

Have a great week!

This Week at LPHS: 11/6-11/10

Hello and Happy Monday!  We do not have a great deal going on at school this week, so it's a great week to make sure we are resetting and pushing the urgency message in all of our classrooms.  Please remember the CKH and District Expectation that you are greeting students at the door.

Tuesday:

* No School (Election Day)

Wednesday:

* Powder Puff Football game at 3:30

Just in case you did not get a chance to view Mr. Dangerfield's VLOG from last week, I have included it here.  It has a critical message for what we are trying to do for our students in LP.

Finally, a message from the LINK Crew:  LINK Crew is in need of board games for Freshman Game Night on November 16.  If anyone has games that they are willing to loan out for the evening or donate, please see Tre Fry!
