This Week at LPHS, February 17 - 21

Thank you to all who participated in Coming Home last week, and helping to make it a very successful week.  Whether your participation was dressing to the themes of spirit days, playing in the staff vs. student basketball game, attending the games and dance on Friday night, or helping to organize the events, your impact was felt and the students are the beneficiaries.  The entire week was awesome, but the atmosphere in the gym Friday night for basketball and in the cafeteria for the dance that followed were incredibly positive.  Our students represented LP and all of the positives that it has to offer, throughout the evening.

Special thanks to Ann Shannon, Leslie Daunter, Candy Plohg for the DECA and Student Council side of things.  Without their help, none of this can happen.  Thank you as well to our ASD Staff, specifically Joe Szypula, Mike Brower, and Nancy Voltattorni for their work in making sure the ASD basketball games happened!  Thanks to Rob Sherwin for having the band psyched and ready to play and Katie Brucki for her work with cheer who put on a show during the games and also kicked butt this weekend!  As always, thank you to our intervention staff who show up and work hard for all of it!

On to the next week!

Black History Month
* I have spent a great deal of time with the students that have organized the Black History Month celebrations at LPHS over the course of the last month.  They are excited about the chance to celebrate and to recognize Black History Month.  If you see the opportunity to add anything to your lesson, community circles, good things, or anywhere else, a tidbit or conversation about Black History, it would go a long way for our student body.
