This week at LPHS, April 30 - May 4

Hello LPHS Staff,

This is a pretty "normal" week, or as normal as the beginning of May can be in a high school.  The only thing on the calendar for students or staff is that COSCO will be here with some information on Thursday, May 3 for staff interested in joining.

Other than that, I'd like to remind everyone to focus on the Instructional Cycle that we have talked about extensively at our last three meetings.  Make sure your moments of high quality assessment and questioning are planned and reflected in Planbook.

Thanks and have a great week!

Volunteers in the Building

As a reminder, any adult that you are having in your classroom or attending a field trip with, must have a background check completed before being allowed to do so.  I need this form completed, with a copy of the driver's license or state ID, at least 48 hours before the individual is to be around students.  Late notices can lead to some really awkward conversations, so please do not wait too long.

This Week at LPHS, April 23 - 27

Good Afternoon,

The weather looks to have finally turned and our extra curricular activities have kicked in to high gear.  Our students have a lot going on and their distractions are plentiful.  Thanks for doing your best to keep them centered on what is happening in the classrooms.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we will have students doing testing retakes.

Tuesday is also an early release day with a staff meeting to follow.  Please bring your two most recent assessments given in your classrooms.  I will have a brief questionnaire for you to complete on these and other assessments given in your classrooms, followed by a PSP and department time.

Our BTN will meet on Thursday at 7:10 in room 145.

On Friday and Saturday, our awesome drama department will be putting on their rendition of "Do You Wanna Dance?" and there are 3 opportunities to see the show.  Friday's performance time is 7:00 pm and there are two shows on Saturday at 2:00 and 7:00.  Ms. Knick and our students would love to see you there!

Have a great week!
